LEAD PAINTER.
CDA + SURROUNDING AREAS.

Let's cut straight to it.

You didn't spend years perfecting your craft to slap paint on walls for a company that doesn't care how it looks when you leave. You didn't develop an eye for detail just to watch a foreman rush you through a job to hit a deadline. And you definitely didn't get into this trade to babysit a crew that doesn't give a rip.
So here's the real question: What if the company you worked for cared as much as you do?.

WHO WE ARE:
War Horse Painting is a premium painting contractor based in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. War Horse Painting exists because Jesus made a way. We started out of the back of a Subaru, and now we are a growing small company dedicated to providing the best painting service possible here in North Idaho. That means we use the best materials available. We invest in the best equipment. We treat every home we walk into like it's our own — because that's the standard we hold ourselves to. And we treat every person on this crew the way we'd want to be treated ourselves — because that's what Jesus calls us to do.

We don't just talk about faith here. We live it. Prayer is welcome on this job site. The Gospel is never shut down. Jesus is the center of everything we do — every brushstroke, every client interaction, every decision we make as a company. If that resonates with you, keep reading.

We're a small, tight crew of 2–3, and we're looking for a Lead Painter who fits that culture — someone who leads by example, owns their work, and makes us proud every single time.

THE ROLE.
What You'll Actually Be Doing:
  • Leading interior and exterior residential painting projects from first drop cloth to final walkthrough.
  • Cabinet painting — this is precise, methodical work. Smooth finishes, clean work environments, and a level of care that homeowners remember. If you've done it right, you know what we mean.
  • Deck restoration — surface prep, staining, sealing, the full process done right.
  • Keeping the crew on task and the job moving without cutting corners.
  • Representing War Horse Painting on-site with homeowners — you're the face of this company when we're not there.
  • Catching problems before they become callbacks.

WHO FITS.
What We're Looking For:
  • We're not hung up on your resume. We're hung up on your work.
  • Show us what you've done. Show us you can do it again. Show us you take pride in it — and we want to talk.

You're the right person if you:
  • Notice the things other painters walk right past.
  • Can lead a small crew without drama or hand-holding.
  • Move efficiently without letting quality slip.
  • Talk to homeowners like a professional — not like you can't wait to get back to your headphones.
  • Take full ownership of a job from start to finish.
  • Show up. Every day. On time. Ready to work.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • The Honest Reality Check.
  • This is a physically demanding, detail-intensive job. You'll be on your feet, on ladders, in the elements, and on the clock. Some days are long. Some jobs are tough. That's the trade.
  • But if you're wired for this kind of work — if you actually love doing it right — you'll thrive here.

You'll need:
  • A reliable personal vehicle to get to job sites.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • The ability to work comfortably on ladders and at heights.
  • The ability to work outdoors in North Idaho weather (yes, all of it).
  • We provide: All tools, equipment, and materials. You bring the skill and the work ethic.

COMPENSATION.
What We Offer:
  • $28–$35/hr — based on what you can actually do.
  • Performance bonuses available for the right candidate.
  • Full-time, consistent work.
  • A small crew that works hard and looks out for each other.
  • A company that takes craftsmanship seriously — and takes care of people who do too.

APPLY:
  • Is That You?.
  • Are you the Lead Painter who's tired of working for companies that don't match your standards?.
  • Are you ready to lead a crew, own your jobs, and do work you'd actually drive past and point at?.
  • Are you the kind of person who leaves a jobsite cleaner than you found it — not because someone told you to, but because that's just how you operate?.
  • And are you someone who wants to work somewhere Jesus is welcomed — not just tolerated?.
  • Then let's talk.
  • If you've got photos of past work, include them — it tells us more than any resume will.
  • War Horse Painting is an equal opportunity employer. We hire character and skill — in that order.
